Daphne's Music Studio
About Me
My name is Daphne. I am currently a high school student in the city of New haven, Connecticut, USA. I started learning the piano when I was 5 and the flute at the age of 7. I have passed the highest level of Music certificate for the state of California and won many international and national music competitions. I also performed at holiday festivals and winners' concerts in California and New York.
I have a broad interests for various kinds of music instruments. In addition to the flute and piano, I also play several other classical woodwind instruments, including the piccolo, oboe, and bassoon. At my leisure time, I also enjoy playing the viola, ukulele, guitar, and bamboo flute. I have enjoyed making music for more than 10 years and continue to be passionate about it.
I believe it is a great advantage if a kid can start learning a musical instrument when they are young; however, some kids and their families do not have the resources to learn music at an early age to discover their potential. I hope to share my music knowledge and experience in the learning process with young kids. Music has great positive power over a person's mind and health. It might be a great ambition but I do hope to bring more calm and peace to the world through music.
Lesson Philosophy
I strive to make every lesson a positive and fun learning experience. Through the free music lessons, I hope to inspire children a lifelong love of music and help kids develop the fundamental music skills and confidence.
Each child is unique and has different strengths and weaknesses. A good music teacher tailors the instruction to help each student reach their full potential. For young learners, I engage young minds with stories of famous classical musicians and their unique specialties and music styles. In each class, I will teach well-known classical music pieces that are familiar to kids from their previous experience at home and at school and focus on music fundamentals and practicing skills, such as rhythm, pitch, and tone.
Music is an artistic expression of oneself so each student will explore their own unique expression and music styles. Students will walk from from each less with an increased love and appreciation for music that will last a lifetime.
